Kukkiwon International Policy Project
KUKKIWON plan to push forward an International Policy Project to promote Kukkiwon target business, including the Kukkiwon Poom·Dan Promotion test, and vitalize the martial art Taekwondo to enhance business ability and build an international organization.
Policy Project 1
Establish the Kukkiwon Branch or Division
1. Kukkiwon Branch
The Kukkiwon plan to set up one branch for each nation. The Kukkiwon can directly establish the overseas corporation or approve a MNA or local subsidiary as the Kukkiwon branch.
2. Kukkiwon Division
The Kukkiwon plan to install the Kukkiwon Division, as a pre-stage for establishing the Kukkiwon Branch, to carry out the Kukkiwon target business, including Kukkiwon Poom·Dan Promotion Test through an agreement with the national association or Taekwondo organization.
The way in which Dan grading’s are to be conducted and the ability for Masters to conduct them will all change as of January 2016.
Kukkiwon certified Masters will only be able to recommend Dan promotion up to and including 2nd Dan; 3rd Dan and above must be conducted by an approved panel. Anyone who wishes to be eligible to sit on the panel and to promote over 4th Dan must be of appropriate rank, have qualified on one of the Kukkiwon Foreign Instructors Courses and passed the Kukkiwon Poom/Dan Examiners course.
The Kukkiwon have requested that a Kukkiwon branch be set up in each country that is open to all Kukkiwon qualified masters irrespective of affiliation.
